Advantage of using steel grating as floor lies in its recyclability and easy installation.

Manufactured from ASTM A-1011 mild carbon steel, steel grating has been the most popular grating system for most applications including industrial and commercial flooring, buildings, walkways, platforms, safety barriers, drainage covers and ventilation grates. Steel bar grating is available in four fabrication methods - welded, riveted, swage locked and dovetail pressure locked. Each fabrication has its own character.

Steel gratings are often applied by external coating to extend its service life. Hot-dip galvanization and PVC coating protects interior steel from erosion of rains, snows and other elements.

Spacing between bearing bars is very important, which depends on load capability and applications. The standard spacing is 19/16" or 1-3/16". Spacings of 7/16" and 1/2" are ideal for ADA passing through.

Surface options:

  • Plain surface;

Bearing bar specifications:

  • Thickness: 3/16", 1/8", 1/4" 5/16" and 3/8";
  • Depth: 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2’, 2-1/4", 2-1/2".

Finish options

  • Hot-dip galvanized;
  • PVC coated;
  • Mill-unpainted.
